Lance Corporal Harry Willis

The background of this North Irish Horseman is not known at present.

Harry Willis enlisted in the North Irish Horse between 25 July and 4 August 1914 (No.957). On 1 May 1915 he embarked for France with D Squadron, which at the time was serving as divisional cavalry to the 51st Division.

Willis remained with the regiment throughout the war, though it appears he spent some time posted to another regiment in France or Ireland, returning to the North Irish Horse in October 1918 (when he was issued Corps of Hussars number 72238).

On 4 March 1919 he was demobilised and transferred to Class Z, Army Reserve.
